More than A Playlist: The Music Journey

I have written poetry, songs, psalms and stories since I could write. My first poem was a love poem, of course….

There once was a dog who lived in the fog and a hen who lived in a pen. They met at the vet in a red corvette and never went home again!

I mean…what more could you want? A cool fast pretty car, a man full of mystery from the unknown and the open road of adventure!

With that being said, I’ve only worked with one other song writer thus far. A friend suggested to try AI a couple weeks ago. And, here we are.

Now, I have had much discussion with my oldest daughter and other creatives regarding using AI in the creative process. Most are negative in response to using AI. Even so, I have really enjoyed getting to hear my lyrics (some 20+ years old) come to life. ”Right Now Eternity“ is to be released on my dad’s birthday (April 28). Country is homey.  Worship is right. Providing a gentle guidance of reminders to keep our eyes fixed on the author and perfecter of our faith. I’m excited to see what all comes out! Gregorian chant is not off the table. Working with AI has made the possibilities endless and I am thankful. I am learning how to be a sound engineer in the process. Maybe these songs will just be for me and my clients/loved ones. I don’t know. But, we are gonna find out.

Country Roots

Right Now Eternity is to be released on April 28, 2026. The inspiration for this song comes from a piece written in my mid 20’s for the late DeAndria Slayton to perform as a spoken word piece.  Here’s a link to the original found within Psalmist Blue The Book: A Testimony in Verse:  https://psalmistbluethebook.wordpress.com/2012/09/26/the-remedy/

Dee and I met at Murray State University in 1996. I was pacing the 8th floor of White Hall, holding a brick sized cordless phone to my face, shuffling index cards, and memorizing data. All of the sudden, I heard…well, these stories are to be shared a wee bit later.
